on course tomorrow...
tomorrow i will be going to ooimachi (大井町) synopsys (for those engineers, should have heard before) for a 1-day course on design compiler... next wednesday will go again for a course on primetime...
although it's scheduled to last for the whole day, i hope it doesn't get too tedius... the bad thing is, it is not hands-on, it's lecture style... and guess what? yup... in japanese... cannot make it... will spend the whole day in a lecture not understanding 90% of what is going to be said....
sigh... wish me luck.
therefore, won't be blogging errm... in the morning and afternoon tomorrow... hehe.. so will write on what happened today nite now first, lest i forget to...
today we had a tanabata matsuri (七夕祭り) celebrations with our tuesday volunteer class... was bored during the dinner (actually with just some finger food) cos after drawing lots, i sat with some odd ppl on the same table... heng calvin same as me... else worse.
after dinner, we had a performance segment... for my class, tsutsen, jianrong and i sang 小人物的心声 (my teacher wanted something singaporean... and we didn't wanna sing those national day songs, hence the choice)... worst part of it all was that i played guitar for the song! ok granted only chords, but hey those who heard me play before knows how bad i am.... right tianbin? yihui?... yup what's worse is that our performance followed a subarashii solo performance by fangyi (plucked and crooned a jap song)... everyone was fixated by his brilliant performance... we, well, basically brought them back to earth... lol
we had a round of "if you're happy and you know it...." and my butt was spanked by an obasan during the "slap the buttock" part of the song... lol... and no, i didn't spank her back... ;p
then came the mexican samba 2... hehe.. those who are someone into japanese culture and music should know this popular song and dance (can't rem his name, he wears gold yutaka, and dance the funny dance of him while singing? you know?)... anyway it really is insanely popular here in japan... so there's this young teacher who was teaching and leading us in the dance... it was dumb... but have to admit... fun.... reminded me of my mass dance days in hwa chong... ;)
one thing that was overheard was this... this young teacher (let's call her A-san) brought her friend (B-san)... they were seated on a table with a Danish guy.... they were kinda excited, and B-san asked, and A-san translated (jap to eng), if he has a girlfren or not... wtf? first time see then ask liao... anyway, the Danish replied that he is married liao... then B-san (and A-san) asked if he could introduce any of his ang moh frens to them!... anyway A-san is my teacher in the class... disappointed... minus marks liao... (not that it matters in the first place)...
so there you see, jap gals generally still prefer ang mohs.... just like a spg....
anyway tomorrow is Fangyi's birthday as well, so here's wishing him an advance
Happy Birthday!!!
see you guys asatte!
