weekend photos!!
shall do this in chronological order... *phew* that was a lot of photos...
on saturday, i reached the yokohama stadium, off kannai (関内) station at 840 to do fatigue first... then afterwhich the cheerleaders took the stage to have a few dry runs to mark their positions...
female cheerleaders' dry run
males' turn now
we fast forward to the game... during the game, we usually play (and the cheerleaders dance) only during toshiba's turn to bat and the transitional period...
opponent's turn to bat (see background) hence the cheerleaders are only leading the spectators to cheer for the fielding guys....
notice the empty stadium, well it was an easy game, expected to win kind, so not much ppl came for this saturday game...
kind of like this photo ;)
they have cue boards when leading the spectators to cheer...
from left: me, damien, and calvin.
the above and fangyi (who came late and thus wasn't in the picture) came for the game. they were seated quite high up (the next photo was taken from the seats, so you can see how far they were). they were there mainly to escape the crowd (so that they can go topless and suntan) as well as to escape from cheering ;p heard from them the cheerleaders were so enthu that a few of them came all the way up to where they were to encourage them to cheer along... wow... anyway the male cheerleaders i know they earn 7000 yen (110 SGD) for a days work (part-time, 3 hours or so)... i also wanna work as cheerleader man!
view from top stands
cheer gals applying sun block ;p
it was so hot and the sun was so strong, md-way through the game, the gals were applying new coat of sun block... hehe...
anyway, fast forward to end of game... were we had a debrief session...
waiting for contingent master to come while standing in ranks, and posing for my camera ;)
check out the gal in centre in perfect sedia position... damn pro siah...
thus concludes the first day of baseball... afterwhich, the bunch of us, plus james, went to ikebukuro to shop and to expend my said free tics to the aquarium there...
and we were lucky to feast our eyes on the beauties on catwalk... already i warn the photos were not very good cos got security, and we were too high up.... but you get the idea from the glimpses below...
need i say more? ;p~~
the 2 gals in the 2nd pic above (in purple bikinis) are the crowd fav of course.... why? they were the most busty ones... with each step there's errr... some things wobbling... they even brought my me to attention ;p
but anyway at this point in time, male readers can leave liao... cos no more interesting bits left ;p
carry on to the aquarium...
sunshine becos it is in sunshine city (a famed ikebukuro shopping complex)
this purple/pink fish looks just so graceful...
this is called a long neck something turtle... the neck really frightfully long man... you see it trying to bite his own shell here!
look! it's head can reach even behind it's hind legs! amazing.... 見たことない...
that's that for fishes... there's a small zoo there too, so we went in and was pleasently surprised to find some animals uncaged...
so cute!! so cartoony!! this is a lemur btw...
ooo... the penguin army... my friends and allies*
---==---
sunday morning, same time, same place...
got photos of the prep session...
it reads Ripobitako D, some energy drink like redbull (tasted like redbull too)
yaammmmm seng!
my fellow saxophonist bottoms up...
i asked a silly question to one guy cheerleader who can speak almost perfect english (he's from keio university). i asked him what this drinking session was for. yeah stupid question. but he answered me anyway. he said we all drink this together after our prep talk so that we will all have energy to cheer for the team later... kinda like a cheer culture over in japan... almost every cheer teams here does this...
the guy in the centre holding the toshiba colours, that's yuki, the guy who can speak good english... we play the toshiba anthem during and after the game, and that's when this colour comes to play...
look sunday more ppl! there are banners for each of the baseball players (like what you see in slam dunk...)
can you spot Tsu Tsen? hehe...
every roller coaster ride, no matter how enjoyable or boring, has it's end... and for this photo blog, here is it...
yokohama curry museum, the one that conned 1000 yen out of me ;p
*one of my nicknames back in sec/jc/uni days was penguin... yeah.. frens say i walk like penguin. now some say i even look like one... #$&%(#
