情歌总是老的好

when i was in ktv last weekend, it finally dawned upon me why my parents keep singing the same old Teresa Teng's era's songs. Those are songs they grew up with, and they probably reminisce the good old times whenever they hear those songs...

i guess with the exception of some ppl (for eg. ivan chia) who keep up with times, the songs that we sing are probably the same set of songs we sing time after time after time in ktvs... contrary to getting bored of them, somehow whenever i listen to them, i feel somewhat refreshed, energised. they bring back sweet memories of childhood, from primary school days right up till the good ol' rocking jc days...

all of us sang 他的背影 altogether the other day, and it felt so good listening to the song after such a long time. anyone remember 伊能静's 有我有你? that was my fav in primary 3 or thereabouts i think. how about 刚泽斌's 你在他乡? though didn't sing it that day, i say the song listed in the booklet. reminds me of the cassette tape my sis used to own, and we would sing along with it pretty often. that was like in secondary 1. the list goes on, but i won't for now...

i guess that is the appeal of the ktv for me... leave my worries in the present while i travel back into the past. it is always great to go ktv with ppl from the same generation, where we can share the same songs, though different memories... of course it will be even better to go with old frens! miss all you ppl back there in singapore... will be back soon! in like around 322 days ;)
