my weekend...

on saturday i went to watch a surprisingly excellent jazz concert by the toshiba ride on jazz orchestra. according to my japanese frens (from band) with whom i went to the concert with, they are a pretty well known jazz band in this region, and their performances sell-out all the time.... well it's no wonder now, cos they are really good.

highs of the day, cool perfomance arena (a hall more for wedding dinner kind rather than for music performance) at yokohama bay, with the stage set such that the background offers a nice view of the sea. very very interesting architecture indeed, that whole place (おさん橋)... would probably visit there again if there's a chance. great music (a full 21 pieces, incl. encore), ranging from standards such as spain and caravan to local japanese favorites like mexican samba II, really enjoyable indeed. not a moment of dullness at all. and the best bit - it was free for me!! muahahaha, my fren 木村智美さん (Ms Tomomi Kimura), got complimentary tickets for me... hehe (U.P. 1500-1800 yen).

lows, can you believe it, i actually forgot my camera!!!!!! argghhh.... damn dui still... bloody idiotic of me... probably the only other low is that we reached there at 2 pm, and waited in line until 330 pm, and continued to wait for the performance to finally start at 430 pm. yeah... japanese are probably better at hello kitty queues than us singaporeans. anyway as it was free seating, being early earned me a seat at the table together with the CEO of Toshiba, whatever his name was... and in japan, he is really some big fark, esp among toshiba employees... so i should be proud, but well whatever.

and btw, my fren SN strolled into office late again, and now he is sorting his photos instead of working... LOL! (not that i am any better haha)

sunday i went basketballing and ktv thereafter... had quite a good time... yup and ktv, for day time, we paid around 800 yen each (S$12.50) for 5 hours! pretty darn cheap right? hehe... that's for day only lah.. nite prices can kill you... and they have a good variety of chinese songs too, only problem is that we have to sit through agonisingly gross mtv for countless times (they recycle the exact same few mtvs, changing only the music and lyrics)...

a bad start to the month... in 5 days, i have spent around 200 dollars liao... sigh... gotta curb...
