japan news update...
today some interesting and appalling news in japan... first, rem the skiier satoya's "interesting" events? well now her canadian boy partner has come out to refute the reports, branding them as lies by the media... 面白い...
following, 2 cases which i think is appalling... one is about a railway employee who raised the boom gate for ppl to cross the railway track when a train is approaching... result: 4 ppl ran over by train, 2 ppl died. it was described "...A safety device was in place to prevent the gate from being raised when trains approach the crossing. However, Komatsu turned off the safety lock and lifted the gate, officers said..." acts of stupidity apparantly... am amazed how easily a person can overide their safety lock to raise the gates when a train is coming... frens in japan, look out before you cross in the future...
the last for today is about a 29 year old woman allowing her little 4 year-old son to be beaten to death by her teenage boyfriend... what was her sentence? 2 years in prison, suspended for 3 years (read: no jail term)... sigh... japanese judiciary is a real joke.
