band prac on sat..

sat, went for band prac under the professional conductor. he's quite nice and kind too, although sometimes he can look quite fierce...

played the armenian dances 1 and 2 (by alfred reed)... for me, they were grossly difficult. before playing armenian 1, the conductor asked for a show of hands who hadn't played the piece before. a bunch of us raised our hands. he then said to all "日本人じゃない". he explained that japanese will definitely play this piece before in their high school days, as it was very popular among high school bands, and was one of the competition pieces in the past.

well now at least i know i can't even cope with a high school piece. that's how bad i really am...
sigh...

after the prac, went for another official welcome party for me... so had great food and drinks from 1730 until 0030... haha... and free too ;) great food great company, just great!
