the good old days...

read this in one of my ex-classmate's blog... sigh... brings back the good old days... even now, when i talk to lance who is seated beside me in office about hwachong, we all can still talk for hours!...

"... well.. was brought back to jc days again.. remembering the pull-up bars where pple like jinks, winston and yimin used to train pull-ups.. the canteen where we girls had to be rather careful of the mischievious wind as we carried our plate/bowl of food .. those paper airplanes at the top of those "pipes" in LT2 where we had most of our lectures, where we strolled in late for physics lectures some thurs after swimming for pe at chinese high.. miss our tutorial rooms too.. which went by A207, B201 etc. still remember that a few of us used to be permanent features in the right back row.. chatting with mrs sim during maths tutorials more than working.. and mrs lim bee huay with her distinctive pronunciation of "this". which other more prominant teachers were there? oh yes, who can forget mrs HoLY, discipline mistress in j1 (always had to lengthen our skirts during chem ).. and seow ling ling with her blue and green toenail polishes haha.. and physics tutor mr low, who obviously loved socratic questioning even then - everytime you asked him a question, he'd answer you with another question.. used to drive us crazy and more confused.. there were also the eating places.. like A&W at crown centre, KAP, 6th ave, beauty world.. and hwa chong hostel where we frequently went to play bridge.. hai.. jc days were good.. i think i appreciate them even more now.. it was tutorial after tutorial, especially for maths c and f maths (16 tys questions EACH tutorial!) but life was interesting..."

Mr low!! hate that guy man...

Typical Q&A with him:
you: Is my working and answer correct?
Mr low: What you think leh?
you: I think it is correct to the best of my knowledge, but need some confirmation. logically speaking A + B = C, furthermore by the law of ABC, technically the answer should be like this.
Mr low: What you think leh?
you: ...

I can say that i got through my A levels Physics without him and through my own efforts sia.. Was lucky my physics grade wasn't pulled down by him too.

One other thing is that he is a sucker for foreign scholars, he will always answer questions raised by them while bochuping the rest of the class..

haha..tat aside... I miss the WANTON MEE in hwachong!!!

I miss the street soccer court in hwachong and the astroturf in chinese high where we sneaked out to play after class...

I miss the table tennis tables in hwachong which are conveniently located below our LTs so that we can play during breaks, though most of the time, we played during lecture as well. haha

I miss pe. Not many places/schools offer SWIMMING in a PE time slot. it is a refreshing change, and coupled with the wanton mee (no queue) after PE as we had a free time slot then.

I miss the cheers, the mass dances, the events, chinese new year, mid autumn festival, teacher's day, college day, sports day.

I miss the pride that we've had as hwachongians, the identity, & the overwhelming sense of satisfaction as a big family where we play hard, and work hard (or little?)

I miss my friends, my class diary... the origins of the blog must have stemmed from the class diary... it will still bring back countless laughter and tears as i re read my class diaries... no matter how many times I have read them through..

there are the childish scribbles in which everyone wanted to be the first and the last to put their entries into the class diary.. hilarious...

;)

i agree on mr low... cannot make it, just dun bother asking him anything, since i am not a sekolar... i miss mrs sim though, was so happy to see her in jp the other time and she still remembered me! she's just the nicest teacher ard!

i miss the chinese food stall and the chicken rice stall.. the stall owner will always gimme bigger portions or free eggs or whatever.. becos everytime i will chit chat with them in cantonese... haha.. my classmates were always envious of my bigger plate ;p

i miss the basketball courts in hjc and chs, where our class frequent almost every other nite to play...

i miss the orientation, the painting of banners, making up and shouting crap cheers, the festivals, mass dances, sing-along sessions... 只为那爱我愿...

miss the company of frens, the joy, the laughter... everything and anything in hwa chong... the best 2 years of my life...

good for you, you still have your class diary.. mine dunno where liao... sigh...

however some things will always stay with me... the memories, the frens, the pride and identity of being part of this wonderful family...

i AM a hwa chongian...

yeah, I remember we've had stickers pasted in our class diary (and those are stickers we took out from the sch toilet haha),
we've had drool marks in many pages of our diary.. haha.. guess alot of us feel asleep after writing the diary during our lectures..
You can even find Hair (possibly pubic) in our diaries hahaa..

all in my house now.. vintage property haha.. will not sell for any price..... hmmm,,.. okie lar.. offer me something above 1 million and i might reconsider ;P

the chinese food stall is good too i agree.. then the roti john!! hahhaa

eww... that's gross.. imagine drooling over and sleeping on something which had things from the toilet, as well as pubic hairs in it! =p

why would i want to buy your class diary?? i want MINE!!!

By Blogger winz, at 2:32 PM

Too bad.. y would i care about yours ? hahaha

ya, the maths tutorials were crazy. sometimes one wk 4 maths tutorials (2 for maths c and f maths each), then 20 or so TYS qns, or even worse.. qns set by HC tutors.. each qn further differentiated by parts i, ii, iii, etc..

I never completed my maths tutorials as such hahahaa.. okie except for those tutorials given in january.. beyond that, the workload had already snowballed past my limit hahaa...

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 4:06 PM

haha... the number of tutorials that i did (all subjects) for the 2 years i think i can count with 2 hands! =p

No wonder we seemed to have something in common hahhahaaa....
