photos collection
Hey all,
thanks for waiting ;) let's now start with tokyo dome.... here's a pic of the ferris wheel there and roller coaster going through the centre... pretty nice design i would say... anyway notice anything different with this ferris wheel as compared to all others? let you think for a second...
ferris wheel and "thunder dolphin" roller coaster at tokyo dome
ok so for those you noticed, well done, but no prizes... this ferris wheel is the first in the world that doesn't have a center, or rather doesn't rotate ard a center point... interesting ain't it? but for what use other than originality, i dunno....
i shall leave tokyo dome for a second, and go to Koishikawa Korakuen now... my japanese fren Yasu, his fren Haydee, and I went there first before the park closed at 5 pm....
Koishikawa Garden
My fren brought me here to view a proper japanese garden... so nice of him... it is here where i saw some nice plum blossoms... check out my kodakgallery photo albums for that though...
actually this garden reminds me of central park in manhattan, not so much of their beauty and stature. it's like you are surrounded by nature and greeneries, yet at the background, you can still see skyscrapers and all (see above). of course central park still nicer lah.. haha... ;)
ok next we saw a group of gals dressed up rather elaborately in the garden.
guess what they are dressing up for??
answer coming right up!
ok these are their university graduation/convocation ceremonial dress! so nice rite? so original, unlike our boring and unflattering ones... a thing to add is that for guys, its just normal suits... as usual.. boring.
ok so here are some interesting shots from a traditional japanese room...
japanese garden view from japanese room
for those who are observant, yes this is actually a miniature structure! ;)
miniature... haydee's turn to take a picture...
ok now back to tokyo dome city... we passed by this interesting strip where ppl were getting ready for some anime cosplay party...
dun you just love cosplay? check out fma's Envy, and the guy behind checking out her butt... haha...
anyways we got up the center-less ferris wheel for 800 yen...
view from the top. the white turtle shell is tokyo dome... (now esplanade dun look that bad)
photos of the roller coaster from the top...
going up!
it's coming! here it goes!!!
aaaaahhhhhh!!!!
this roller coaster actually boasts 4G, 60 m drop, at an inclination of 76 degrees i think... something like that...
this is La Aqua, part of the Tokyo Dome City. where they have nice food, and an onsen here i think.
La Aqua - sunset
and here's Bubba Gump, as I was talking about.
Bubba Gump
Bubba (to Forrest): Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it.

we fast forward to my snowboarding trip in hakuba. it was snowing when we reached there. in the picture below, on the right, is our ryokan, shinya.

blue mountain? more like irritating blue filter from my camera... argghhh..
some pics of us...
damien, me and calvin, before starting off, still nice and fresh...
at the 龙门客栈, where they charge crazy prices for our lunch... (btw, i have my gloves and all tucked into my jacket... not that fat ok...)
with our boards after lunch...
the next day, we spent our time walking ard the vicinity, and enjoying some ofuro (hot bath).
nice welcome signboard for visitors... (me and tsu tsen)
welcome to happo, hakuba, home to the 1998 winter olympics
